I like the idea of having standardized grades as it would definitely reduce confusion. I have made the mistake of not checking the syllabus grading scale in the past and my grade suffered. BUT, at the same time having standardized grades would have to force professors to change the number of points each assignment and exam is worth to still maintain the same level of difficulty for the course. As of now, most (not all) courses where >92%=A have lots of opportunities set up for students to get points via assignments or are setup that way because they’re really important courses. As much as I love having future courses be easier and less stressful I don’t believe it’s a good idea for future graduating Chiropractors as they will have less knowledge.
Thus, as long as professors are willing to put in extra work to make changes to the number of assignment and percentage of those assignments and quizzes to maintain the same level of difficulty, I believe it is an excellent idea!
The one change I see fair is if class time is lost due to whatever reason for example snow day, professor being sick etc. the class getting scaled/curved.
I also believe having the grades released on all exams immediately after being nice. If someone missed an exam they would still be able to ask their friends what the questions were it doesn’t really give those students more of an advantage if the marks were immediately released. IF the marks are getting released immediately after the exam I personally don’t mind where the mark gets posted. But, if they’re not getting released immediately after then having them all get posted to the same website would definitely be more user friendly. Or at least an email when the grades are released and where would be user friendly.

I feel it would be great to have all of our grades in the same place. Some professors post to moodle, some to e northwestern and some on examsoft.

Potentially and unpopular opinion here.
We should advocate for the quality of our education, not to make it easier. If this genuinely negatively impacts your education sign it. If it impacts your ego, well that isn't a good reason to sign it.
Why are we trying to micromanage our professors? They have different grading scales for a reason. Some will basically hand you 20% of your grade by showing up or offer some sort of extra credit if you want to do the work. Many of them have been doing this for decades. Let them do their jobs. I understand advocating for ourselves but frankly, this may be more in the complaining category than advocating. This will set us up for a lot of issues as professors try to relearn their grade weights because they can't hand out as many points as they used to. I am concerned this is a be careful what you ask for situation.

Honestly it is so confusing right now. Having every professor do their own thing makes it impossible to know where I actually stand in my classes.

I agree, it is really stressful trying to figure out what grade I’m getting in what class based on the courses grading scale. If it was all the same that would be a lot easier to keep track of and one less thing to worry about.

I agree with this petition. We are enrolled into a single program with as many individual / separate grading criteria’s as there are professors. Students need one program with one standardized grading scale that erases the confusion placed up on us by the opinions of the professors.
