What a terrible reflection on the university's commitment to widening participation!

After having worked with the Benefactor's campaign to raise further money to help the upcoming students through bursaries, I would hate to see the sympathy of Alumni go to waste

I wouldn't have made it through Liverpool Uni without my bursary. Simple as that.

It is vital that the University both maintains and honours its equal opportunities policy by covering the losses to these bursaries. Students without the means to support themselves financially should be given the opportunity to study and excel. This would be within the University's interests as a non-profit, educational institution

The bursary has been very important to me while studying here. Others in years below me, who are already hard done by with an increase in fees, should be supported as I was

It's disgraceful that the government cuts back on services that are deemed surplus to public funding. These cuts will not protect the country from future economic problems when young people and those most in need are continually attacked whilst the rich get richer and social mobility gets worse. The government needs to get its act together and start investing in the country through infrastructure and it's young people, who are only the future! Nothing too important then...

The U.K seems to be going back in time not forwards with regards to taxes,Funding etc. If we could do it before we can do it again, If their should be any cut backs it should be from the most wealthy not the poorest.
