I often receive phone calls from visitors I am expecting saying they have been driving around for ages trying to find a parking space and where the heck are they going to park. It does not project a particularly good image for the university. There was a perfectly good car park in the North car park so they decide to rip it up! I don't know what planet some of the planners here live on! I am lucky, I can catch the train; I feel sorry for people who have to rely on their cars to get here.

I arrive too late to find a spot on campus. Since residential roads nearby are always full too I usually park a 15 minute walk away from the University, which seriously increases my commuting time. I no longer feel safe cycling following a collision with a car, and here is no convenient public transport from my home to the University - I have no choice but to drive and the lack of parking causes me stress every single morning

I have to drive all the way from Leicester and struggle for parking and sometimes I end up missing lesson as a result of this.

The parking situation is terrible, but was such an obvious consequence of the ceaseless capital investment into construction. In fact, it was so obvious one must question why a project office, a planning department, and an estates department failed to address it - nor by UEB.

As a member of staff with caring responsibilities I have been offered flexible working which is fantastic, however, if I am not on campus before 8:45 I cannot guarantee I will be able find a parking space so in reality I cannot take advantage of flexible working. Some days when I have to drop my children and arrive as late as 9:10 there are no spaces left and the majority of spaces that are taken are by contractors or cars without permit. I would love to be able to take the train but this is not possible due to my family commitments so I have no option other than to increase my stress levels.
In addition to this when we have visitors from all over the country (and Europe) attending meetings we cannot guarantee they can get a parking space. This projects very bad image of the University to possible collaborators and future sources of funding for research as this will be their first impression – if we can’t even get the car parking right what else will we mess up?

Wasting half an hour every day in the search of parking space. Also this means you often pay double for parking when you swipe your card while searching for parking at university staff places and end up parking in multi-storey.

On a Friday I have a later start of 9.30am and either have to leave earlier than my journey time or park much further away.

It takes me 30 mins to find a parking space... but most times I find nothing and have to park somewhere outside the campus

At least there should be a digital signal showing how many space are there in the car park.

The lack of spaces is a real problem. If I go off site for experiments at a company I can't park when I get back later in the day. I've also had to drive round for 20 minutes with visiting sponsors trying to find a space for them.

I am one of the fortunate members of staff as I start at 8.00am and therefore can always get a parking space. However, many of my colleagues that have to drop their children at school before work are struggling to get a parking space and this is causing unnecessary stress. Most mornings there are many contractors parked in the car parks, not always legally, which makes it even more difficult for those with a permit and abide by the strict parking rules.

I now have to start my working day at 7.30 a.m.to make sure I get somewhere to park.I don't finish until 6pm so this makes for a very long working day.If I get in after 9am there is nowhere to park.Please get it sorted.

The parking situation is very annoying for staff, students and visitors. Its is even more annoying when I know the Sports Centre car park is only 1/3 full (even during term time) and being a staff member who can't park there, I have to drive around with a very restless toddler to use a facility I pay for. It's lovely that we spend lots of money on new buildings, but it's a shame we can't park to use them!

I've had to adjust my working hours in order to get a parking space. I work in two buildings on opposite sides of campus and there is absolutely no way I can drive between them if I have things to transport as there are never any spaces

As a disabled member of staff who cannot qualify for a "blue badge", I find the parking situation on campus utterly atrocious. I have had to change my hours just to be able to get a parking space on campus. My complaints to Car Parking have been met with little sympathy and suggestions that "the 10 minute walk" from Pritchatts Road carpark is deemed 'acceptable'; not taking into account any personal difficulties many staff with accessibility issues have. The fact Estates built a multi-storey carpark without a) adequate lighting or b) a light in the 21st Century is still beyond belief!

I would also like to see the same parking rules apply to contractors who seem to be able to park all over the place for free and don`t get touched, any staff who follow suit are issued with a ticket and threats.

Allow sport center staff to park in 360 car park to ease up on spaces on the rest of campus. Sports staff are regularly late or parking illegally and getting fined. Early shifts are fine but mid shifts 12 sart or late 3.45pm starts are impossible

I worked out my job and hours around that fact that I could park at work. I have childcare responsibilities and now if I arrive after 9.15 I have little or no hope of getting a parking space. Recently I I have had to drive to a train station to get a train into work after not being able to find a space which is a ridiculous situation to be in. I then run the risk of being late for school pick up if there are train issues.

To travel 29miles to uni battling the M6 traffic only to get to uni and find out all the effort of getting in early has just gone wasted due to inadequate parking spaces. Improvement is needed in this sector.
