To the University of Birmingham senior management:

Recent changes to the University car parking have created a chronic lack of parking spaces on campus.

Staff arriving later than 8.30 am are struggling to find parking spaces.

This has serious implications for all staff, especially those with accessibility issues (made worse by the lack of a lift in the new multi-storey North East Car Park), and for those who have caring duties that they need to attend to in the mornings.

Please address this problem and make sure that staff have enough parking spaces on campus!

Unfortunately like many others I am struggling to park on campus, I usually get into work by 08:15 and there are few or no spaces left near my office. This usually wouldn't be a major issue but due to a recent medical condition walking is proving difficult.

The cutting of parking spaces is not a sustainable solution. There is now much more parking in Selly Oak, on roads which used to be relatively clear. The University's insufficient provision of on-site parking is directly affecting nearby residents.

the fact that senior managers get free, dedicated, guaranteed spaces even when they are not in really rubs it in for all other members of staff, who simply have to struggle and manage whilst they are not believed when they complain about the situation

I work late evening shifts and feel unsafe parking out on the street miles away when i have to go back in the dark especially after the attacker in selly oak last year. I have no option however as you can't park on campus for the 11 am shift that i have

We have lost a few parking lots and grown as a university but not enough parking has been built to compensate. It is really impossible to park and because of this many people simply decide to work from home, to the detriment of the working environment.

If you have to leave campus anytime after 9am for an external meeting or doctor appointment, there is absolutely nowhere to park upon return. Staff pay £1 a day already to park and to not be able to get here on time as no parking spaces is ridiculous.

I work at the med school and in front of the building is an unused car park, perfectly tarmacked that was taken out of use about 4 years ago and never re-open, it could take around 30+ car, there are a 4 or 5 disabled parking spaces there, so either it is a car park or it isn't???? Open it up while the campus is in chaos. I'd like to know if the parking fine revenue has increased while all the car parks have been closed. My start time is 9am but i have to arrive at 8.10am (SERIOUSLY) to be able to park, any later and i'm unable to find a space, its a complete disgrace. University announces the closure of another car park which will obviously only make matters worse. It shows what terrible planning has gone into the thinking behind the work taking place on campus.

Having family to drop off before parking is hard. Having extra 2+ spaces introduce as some one with a big family (6) seems a little unfair - I always have a full car at the start of morning drop off but an empty one at Uni. Any others in this situation?
