I'm not inherently opposed to fee increases if they are justified and useful. Right now though, it's not obvious that they aren't just being used to mask tuition increases.

I think it is absurd how every year there is a raise in fees yet there is no transparency how they are being used and what new resources are being provided for us?

Just when you think you clear on average $16,000 per year as a half-time teaching assistant, you kiss $1,000 of it goodbye to pay fees. And for what? Another update to D2L? For the WiFi to go out? For administration to hire someone's best friend for a new job that makes no sense? Stop it. For real.

Our fees are going up and I don't understand why. A general statement of the percentages that are going to be used were given and U or A administration was 12%. Not sure why I need more U or A administration when I am in the college of Pharmacy. If raising fees means that we need more staff to take care of the fees, then we should only raise enough fees to meet the capability of current administrative staff.

These fees are absolutely out of control. Fees increased 60% since I was admitted to the program. The administration uses fees in a predatory manner to dodge the publicity of tuition increases. Organizations within the university responsible for disbursing funding won’t share how the money is being spent, particularly the IT fee. This sounds like a violation of the Freedom of Information Act, not to mention blatant fraud waste and abuse. Where is this money going? Students should take a stand and actively protest these fees! Let’s move from advocacy to action!

It would be nice to see how the fee is benefiting students

Once the goals proposed for the fees are met, the fees should be ended. Fees should have a specific, clear function. They should not be used in lieu of raising tuition.

We should know what the fees are being used for.
