To all Muslims and freedom loving people, Switzerland has taken an unprecedented step in holding a refrendum on the building of minarets on muslim Mosques (Masjids, house of worship) and sanctioning the refrendum result and moving to include it into law. This is a violation of the rights of all Muslims living in Switzerland, to freely practice and portray their faith. This is indeed an afront to freedom of expression for the Muslims and freedom loving people and defintely a beginning of more of such 'banning' to come! When will it stop Next they will talk about having concentration camps for Muslims Next they will ask Muslims to wear tags on their necks to identify them! Then maybe go for the Hindus Then again go for the Jews If the Swiss want to ban religious symbols on houses of worship, then they should ban those on the Jewish houses of worship, the Christians Crosses etc. Why the double standards I am calling on all who are concerned about freedom for all to sign this Petition. We should remind the Swiss to respect the freedom of worship and expression for all especially in these very volatile times as regards the indiscriminate violations of Muslims rights every where. We would urge the Swiss to review the mass action against products and services from Denmark following the publishing of the cartoons that angered the sentiments of millions of Muslims around the World. We cannot sit idle and allow racist policies such as these to flourish and go unanswered. The Holocaust and other genocides began with simple innocent seeming actions such as this and look what they accomplished! A message should be sent to every politician and government who will think like the Swiss to think twice before embarking on policies that are sure to become unproductive. It is the least we can do.
