We the Voting Public of Union County are well aware of the issues that exist within our School Districts with regard to overcrowding as well as much needed repairs to our schools. We believe that each and every child in Union County deserves a safe, clean and dry school without leaking roofs and other hazards. We also believe that each family that currently has children enrolled in Union County Public Schools should not be subjected to the redistricting of their children to another School within Union County. We understand the issues at hand, we understand the difficulties facing the BOE at this time, we understand some decisions made will not favor all families and will have some negative impact on us all. We have tried to have our voices heard, we have tried to sit back and let our elected officials do what is best for our children. We have not been heard, nor taken seriously.
With that said, we sign this petition with the purpose of our voices being heard loud and clear. We have the right to elect officials to the BOE and we will exercise that right come 2014 and 2016. We vow that by signing this petition we state that ANY Union County Public School BOE member who votes to accept the $11 Million dollar award offered by the County and/or ANY Union County Public School BOE member who votes to Redistrict our children will fail to get our vote come time for re-election. Those of us signing this petition vow to elect new candidates that share the same values that we as parents do for our children. The issues are difficult however, compromise and redistricting is NOT the answer. We will speak loud and clear at the ballot box in 2014 and in 2016. Please, we ask that the current BOE members work diligently to find alternatives to redistricting and to stand firm against any compromise with the County with regard to the Jury award for our Schools.

My own kids are losing sleep over this prospect and the board continues to ignore our concerns. If we hit the next milestone today it forces them to look at our names before they finalize these district lines.

Seeing one hundred people come together to protect our kids and keep our neighborhoods intact is overwhelming. I started this because my own children deserve stability and I am relieved to know so many of you feel the exact same way.

Redistricting kids from Marvin to Parkwood is RIDICULOUS! So far away and unfair to those who spent their hard earned money to invest in homes in this area ---I am a Realtor and this is the most shocking thing I've seen in a long time.
The BOE needs to think about our children and how this will negatively impact them. They are not a profit center and should not put housing growth ahead of their primary mission to provide our children with the best educational opportunities available. That is why we came here and now they are taking that away.
Please do not redistrict our schools. Capping the schools or building an intermediate school is the right thing to do. The "bubble" will pass in five years, please think about your current students and what is best for them. Redistricting is NOT in the best interest of students.
Float a Bond in november(or sooner) and let the voters decide if new schools should be built. I would rather pay additional taxes than put my kids on a bus for 1.5 hours every day to a school half way across the county.
Please do not rezone our kids. They have believed and hoped they would be Cuthbertson Cavaliers when they leave New Town Elementary. Do not take away their dreams! My oldest is in 4th and in AIG. He NEEDS the advanced academics offered at Cuthbertson!

I have many neighbors whose kids will be suddenly displaced and force them into a desperate decision to see their kids education suffer or have to uproot themselves from their community and move. Listen to your constituents, it will affect my decision at the polls.

I will not be able to get my son to his events if he goes to Parkwood 12 miles away from his homein the wrong direction. I am a single parent and that is why I bought my home here.
