Petition to Establish a Sibling & Twin Unification Policy at The Willow School

We are calling on The Willow School to adopt a fair and family-centered policy that allows qualified siblings—especially twins—to attend school together.

Currently, even when siblings meet all academic and admissions requirements, they may be separated due to the lack of a sibling unification policy. This creates unnecessary hardship for families and places an emotional and logistical burden on both parents and children.

In our case, one twin has been a successful and thriving student at Willow for years, while the other—despite meeting the same qualifications and passing the admissions matrix—is repeatedly denied admission due to limited space and no consideration for sibling placement. This has happened multiple times, leaving our family in an ongoing and deeply frustrating situation.

We fully support maintaining Willow’s academic standards. However, when siblings—especially twins—have both met those standards, it is unreasonable and inequitable to deny them the opportunity to attend together.

We respectfully ask the Willow School Board to:

• Implement a sibling preference policy for qualified applicants

• Prioritize twin placement when both students meet admissions criteria

• Create a more transparent and family-conscious admissions process

Families should not have to choose between schools for their children when both qualify for the same one. Keeping siblings together supports emotional well-being, strengthens family stability, and fosters a more connected school community.

It’s time for a policy that reflects fairness, compassion, and common sense.
