Currently, only two years of Arabic are offered to students at the University of New Hampshire. Every other language at the UNH offers at least three years worth of courses. This is a major problem for students who wish to expand their knowledge of the language. In the contemporary age, with the emerging current world climate surrounding the Arab community, this language should not be overlooked in its importance.
UPDATE: Last Spring, after garnering vast support and 38 signatures from students who "pledged to enroll in a third year of Arabic if it was offered", the UNH Student Senate unanimously passed a resolution calling for the addition of the third year of Arabic. Unfortunately, this appears to mean very little to the Administration which has refused to acknowledge this student call. We have decided to continue pursuing this endeavor, and have now opened the petition to the public and anyone who may be in support of expanding the Arabic program!
Thank you so much for your support!
