Approximately a week and a half ago, I made a mistake regarding coming home on time after a concert. This mistake was not intended, however I take full responsibility for my lack of judgement and failing to be self reliant in the situation, especially at age 17. I realize I cannot disobey my parents wishes, no matter who I'm surrounded with, and am deeply sorry for my actions. It is currently the 4th of July and everyone is celebrating together. This is one of my favorite holidays due to cook outs (because who doesn't love a good burger), fireworks, and a feeling of unity amongst a friend group and in America in general. With this being said, I am requesting a compromise that allows me today (July 4th, 2017) until approximately 1-2 am (eastern time) to be ungrounded so I have the opportunity to spend time with my friends at a bonfire on this special holiday. It would be greatly appreciated if you would please sign this petition in order to help me out on this celebratory day :)
