Petition Description:

We, the final year students of the Great Zimbabwe University (GZU) Weekend class and Block 2025, are calling for the immediate and complete reversal of the recently imposed $441 Work Related Learning (WRL) fee, charged to all 4.2 weekend and block class finalists. This fee is not only excessive and disproportionate—it was introduced without prior consultation, transparent communication, or any meaningful breakdown of its components.

Students have noted that the exchange rate of 34 ZIG against the greenback USD is far above the interbank rate, amplifying the financial strain at a time when economic challenges are already eroding our capacity to fund higher education. We believe this decision lacks accountability, equity, and sensitivity to the realities we face.
