Unfair representation of the USW and Unjust termination of 350 employees by Frais Transportation Management
The United Steel Workers has a duty of fair representation when entering into agreements on behalf of its due paying members. However, the members of the negotiating committee from the international union unilaterally ( and with no one else’s knowledge or input) signed the latest collective bargaining agreement which was rejected 99.5% of the voting membership. Their secretive action clearly constitute an unfair labor practice and is in violation of NRS 614.170 Over 350 drivers who protested against this unilaterally signed collective bargaining agreement have been fired by Frais Transportation Management and are outside for the last 70 days looking for justice. Those drivers are tax payers just like any citizens and have families, and they need the attention of all State and Federal government intervention to address their issues.
