I am a single parent and struggle on my one salary bringing up two children with no child maintenance being paid to me by the children's dad! This is just going to make it harder for me, why is the government making it harder for the single parents who are actually working and supporting their children rather than receiving benefits from the government. Please reconsider this as it is just unfair that a couple can earn up to £87k or more and still receive the child benefit yet struggling single parents total income can be up to 50k and if we work hard to earn more money or work longer hours (to make up for a partners earnings that we do not have coming in as we are a single parent) and earn over 50k as a single parent supporting our children we are punished with our child benefit being taken away which is for OUR CHILDREN not us, surely we should be praising the single parents that are actually working hard to keep their children / houses etc and have a good work ethic??. Something has gone seriously wrong here and it needs to be rectified asap! Thank you
