We, the students of Beginning Social Dance (PHYA 231), propose that the University create an Intermediate Social Dance for those who wish to continue learning the skills and techniques that they first acquired in PHYA 231.
Based on the well-established popularity of the Beginners class taught by dance professional Sunny Yu, we believe it in the best interests of the students at the University of North Carolina that an Intermediate class also be offered.
Below are the signatures of students who support the immediate creation of a one-credit Intermediate Social Dance class.
Thank you for your consideration.
This petition will be delivered to the EXSS office via email and US Mail when deemed appropriate based on the number of signatures.
I am truly overwhelmed by the number of you who have expressed a desire to keep dancing after this semester ends. Your stories about why this class matters are the only reason this is still moving forward because I never imagined so many people would care this much.

I am honestly stunned by how many people want to keep dancing together. This momentum belongs entirely to the community that showed up to support a class I only dreamed of having.

Great idea. The social dance program is always full for a reason. Lets get an intermediate section on the books for next term.

The beginners class was the highlight of my semester. I learned so much from Sunny and really want to keep going with it. Please add this class!
