As of right now any form of skateboarding where your wheels leave the ground (ie. doing tricks) is prohibited across all of UNCG's campus.

This petition is being created in an attempt to create a UNCG Safe Spot Skate Spot, an area where we can skate freely without fear of prosecution, on campus for student skateboarders. Upon meeting with the Dean of Students it is clear we cannot alter UNCG's skateboarding policy already in place. However, it is definitely possible to gain funding to create a safe spot skate spot on UNCG's campus, but we need your support!

We are hoping to create an enclosed spot that that will be a flat slab of concrete about the size of a basketball court. Hopefully we will be able to make it open to DIY and make it into a park.

We need to create this safe spot skate spot to ensure that students will not be prosecuted for skateboarding on campus. Currently the regulations state that students can not let their skateboard wheels leave the ground, and if they do they can be prosecuted.

This is currently a work in progress and the next step is to meet with the Student Government Association. But the biggest thing we need right now is your support, so sign this petition!
