Dear Gateway administrators,
Students at Gateway are in a position where we can not do anything online. I do not mean playing games or watching netflix, but when kids actually try to use websites for educational purposes - i.e. researching facts for an essay, using sites to learn about a topic for science, we are blocked and have to find useless websites. We do not have power to do what we need to outside school. While it may seem easy to say that we can use another computer at home, we may not have our own computers at home to use. Additionally, I can see why there would be blocking for games, but students always find a way to find their way onto gaming websites. Besides educational sites blocked, sites for music like Pandora have been blocked. Sites for music need to be unblocked, because kids and teachers both use them, and some kids somewhat need music to help them when working. For the benefit of the students at Gateway, we need our computers, and our computers give us a small window of things we can use. If Gateway is a school to benefit, we must do something about this.

This is really way to unfair, whenever I look up things to help me DRAW or COOK its blocked and seriously way to extra.
This concerns me very much. I had a huge project that I had to restart because all the websites I used were blocked. Also, they blocked my ad blocker. This has gotten out of hand, and something needs to be done. The school made a stupid choice.
I agree. I understand that they need to see what we are doing on our Chromebooks, but they do not need to block websites that we use for educational purposes.
I do believe this is extremely unfair as well. Although some kids can get a little... out of hand with the games. Other kids who have finished their work should be able to choose how their time is spent but gateway is blocking us from that. I have heard of the rumors that gateway is trying to protect the Chromebooks from viruses. I honestly do not believe them and think that is complete lies.
Too many things like FOOD sites are blocked. Every time I try to research a type of food or sometimes a legume I get blocked. Also, It has taken away all the things that have made my chromebook easier to use, like grammar and this other app that allows me to have more than one open window. This needs to be changed.

This ban is hard to do schoolwork now. Many kids do not have a home compueter and use their chromebook. For some of my classes I need to access websites, and they are blocked. I have trouble working on one of my projects because almost every website I go onto it is blocked.
