this district's budgeting is absurd. when some of the school's budget can go into getting a frickin Therapy Dog, I think the school can shell out some money to obtain faster WiFi that can sustain more devices connected to it.

To block wifi is unnecessary and an inconvenience especially to the students who had purchased other devices knowing the school had a wifi network.

A school cannot spend about six plus years getting teachers to use this technology, having them put all their lessons, classwork, and homework online, and then take away the key that allows students access to the education administration pushed to make digital.

here's the problem with using data, you increase the amount of money placed on your phone bill. It's money you don't want to pay for. Plus their are students that do use other devices that are not phones or iPads. those devices require the use of WiFi like laptops.

Personally I feel that limiting use of the school WiFi is quite useless since, majority of students have data and will most likely continue to use their phones in school; therefore making this whole process of getting rid of the school WiFi from students phones is quite useless. Also the service in the school is terrible, so students will complain about that and lose focus on their actual classwork because they will be busy either discussing what a bad choice the school has made, or trying to get better service. But yeah just do not do it.

BHS's efforts to speed up internet speeds at the cost of our choice in using devices is a step in the wrong direction. Even though every student was given an ipad, and ideally it would be every students first choice for an educational device, the reality is that ipads are not the first choice for many, and are frequently passed over in favor of laptops for note taking, essay writing, etc. This is especially true for seniors, who have older ipad models that are slower and less reliable, causing us to switch to a different device. Blocking non-BHS devices from the school network greatly limits many students' ability to complete the classwork and learn, and thus intereferes the with ultimate goal of Burlington's technology initiative.

This is a very poor decision. The cons heavily outweigh the pros in this situation. Some students do not use their school-issued iPad because not everyone can get work done on an iPad. Burlington High School CAN NOT expect every single student to perform at their best on an iPad, which is why having the right to bring a laptop is not something BHS can take away. I hope the staff at BHS realize this is an issue we will not stand for.

Please reconsider the blocking of internet access because it is hard for the Burlington High School seniors to use their iPad's as a result of this blocking. Currently, the BHS seniors have to study and prepare for mid-terms and college apps, and this blocking has made it very hard for them to do this and continue using their technology for the purpose of education. Please reconsider, and unblock the BHS Wi-Fi.

Try writing a six page English paper on an iPad and then tell us that we can't use laptops or other personal devices.
