What words would you like to associate with "hospital"? Clean, sanitary, healing, strengthening?
In reality, hospitals don't measure up to this definition. Why? Take one look around you. Public transport. Grocery stores. Sidewalks. These are just three places you can spot medical professionals off-duty - in their hospital uniforms. Contact with the public? Check. Contact with hospital patients? Check. Going into a work shift with germs? Check. Exiting the hospital with bacteria? Check. It's a two-way problem.
Would you like to be operated on using utensils that haven't been sterilized? Would you like doctors leaving work without washing their hands? Germs are everywhere. Including hospital gowns. And just like operating tools not being brought out of the hospital, neither should uniforms.

The momentum behind this petition has reached a level that necessitates direct engagement with hospital administrators. I am currently drafting a formal letter outlining our safety concerns to transmit to the healthcare board by the end of the week. Expect a report once I receive a response regarding a scheduled meeting.

Gross. I see nurses at the grocery store in scrubs all the time. Makes me wonder what they are carrying around with them.
Ugh yes!! stop wearing those germy scrubs to get coffee or take the bus its so nasty honestly

Totally agree. Keep the work clothes at work. Its just common sense hygiene.
