The Russian government forbids their citizens and citizens of the former Soviet Union states to protest (among other laws against personal freedom), and is largely corrupt (bribery among all levels of government is rampant) and borders on a dictatorship. This political model should not be acceptable for UN member states. The UN should start negotiations to come up with a plan for Russian political reform before a certain date or risk losing membership in the UN and potential trade embargoes with the other UN states.
