This man makes popping in for small bit of shopping an adventure each time for me, he always has something funny to say, and for anyone to stand up to someone like he did is not too short off heroic! The shop lifter was a serial offender, if anythings going to be a deterent for the rest of his life, this will!!! Further more the suspect in question could have wanted money out the till and to think a store clerk could handle it this well is very commendable! I'd gladly get served by him again, it's nice knowing we have someone like him in my local store

Absolute madness. The Co-Op and the police should be praising him!

Always shopped here, he has been a dedicated member of staff for the co-op, good representative for them.

So wrong for Adrian to be punished and shamed in this way...poor guy. That's what you get for loyalty and for being a good citizen these days. If he goes I will no longer use the Slad rd shop!!

He tackled a shoplifter. The shoplifter should be punished not him. After all shoplifting is a crime

It's a disgrace that someone should be punished for acting against crime. No doubt the thief will get little more than a warning, are you really going to make your loyal employee the loser in this situation?

The man deserves a bonus and not to be treated as if he's the one that has just tried thieving from the store.

He is loyal to the store. He can be contrary but always points out an offer if I've missed it!! I like him!

The Sexy Silver Fox is a local legend. Many can not even imagine dealing with their Sunday comedown shopping of more booze, fags and snacks, without his wonderfully reassuring, fatherly countenance. He must be reinstated or Coop will never hear the last if it!

Top bloke, always there with a laugh and a cynical jibe, but always polite and good-humoured. He has elsewhere been described as a pil***k of the community, but I think that was a sprelling mistake. He has been a great employee of the co-op for many years, and if, after deliberation, they dump him, they won't be getting my custom any more.

Nah why would I sign this? The man needs to consider the age of the lad and stop being a old grumpy bully. Sack him

I wouldn't want my job after this!! I'd leave but take them to bloody court for compensation for the bloody stress caused and the unfair suspension when all he was doing was protecting the shop as a staff member should. He used reasonable force to restrain him from the looks of things! Bang out of order co op should be ashamed!

He is a superb member of staff known him for years. Stephen Bermingham Today at 10:55pm. He demonstrated that he cares about the co-op and his job should be given a bonus not a bollocking

If it was my son that was shoplifting I would hope that the shop keeper would do the same. No harm caused.

you should give him a pay rise not suspend him, that's what you call loyalty for your job it's a real shame his employers don't have the same gratitude towards a long serving member of their staff!!!
