For years now the Universal Music Group (UMG) has been removing YouTube videos that match content licensed by them even if it falls under fair use. YouTube have given them the power to take down any video that takes their fancy, regardless of if it is copyright infringing or not, in a deal they made with them.
This is censorship of the highest degree and we must stand up and tell YouTube that we are for freedom of speech, expression, criticism, and that we will not stand idly by as they tear up our right of fair use.

The feedback I have received highlights a collective frustration regarding the erosion of fair use protections on digital platforms. I am currently compiling a detailed report of these experiences to present to the relevant parties at YouTube. Continued documentation of these instances remains the most effective way to challenge current procedures.

The momentum behind this petition highlights a collective refusal to accept the erosion of fair use principles. It is clear that many others recognize the urgency of addressing these systematic overreaches by Universal Music Group.

UMG have recently put a silly copyright claim on my photo montage video of my Golden Sands Break 2017 because of the song Dance In The Rain by Lolly being used in it, even though I put a copyright disclaimer in my description and I bought the CD that had that song in it. Whenever I dispute silly copyright claims and they put that it is still valid, I'm starting to think that it is either automated or reviewed by a foreigner who doesn't understand fair use!
It seems that they only pick on smaller channels that cant get the word out to everyone

I am signing this petition because the criminal organization that is the Universal Music Group (UMG) has officially gone way too far and is flat out targeting and copyright claiming and worldwide blocking any and all videos containing Kingdom Hearts music that has been around from YEARS ago to now! We must put a stop to UMG and their illegal actions!
i am a new victim of their copyright abuse so f*ck them
boom i got my 1st copyright strike just yesterday as of 26/3/2020 on my very 2nd video of the channel even though i got the visuals from royalty free visuals and this umg claimed the 60 sec part of the actual 240 sec visual ....... i just said wow to my self and the stupidity of this crazy UMG ........ _|_

UMG Copyrighted me. Today. I have 300 subscribers only . Calm down. Like wow. Someone in my stream wanted to join my game I let them in and they had music in the back and you could barellyyyy even hear it. They turned it off after 2 seconds and boom here’s UMG with their claim
