We, the undersigned, petition President Schlissel to 1) reset the standard of pay for postdoctoral research fellows across the entire campus of the University of Michigan to the new National Institutes of Health minimum salary and 2) provide a source of bridge funding for this initial transitional period.

By resetting the standard for postdoctoral payment, President Schlissel will be able to further his initiative on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, ensure the continued recruitment of premier researchers to the University, and finally ensure that all postdocs are paid a livable wage.
