Sonographers can not be expected to keep scanning without breaks, and time for muscle relaxation and recovery. We need time for excellent patient care and processing paperwork, and discussing exam with the Sonologist. .

15 years as a sonographer... general, vascular and cardiac. I have chronic neck, back, elbow and thumb pain. It limits my daily activities to the point I can't do what I love outside of work, like working out and just regular daily chores (cooking, cleaning). It has made me depressed. We work 5, 10 hour days and average 13 studies.

It’s about time we have someone looking out for us! 14 years scanning and I’m looking into another career away from sonography because of the various issues I have from scanning.
