As a sonographer for 15 years, I have personally felt the demands to scan more patients in less time increase. I have already had a major neck surgery and will be needing shoulder and wrist surgery in the future.
It is a major concern and definitely shortens our careers dramatically!

Management capitalises on the empathetic and hard working nature of sonographers, who feel responsibility to meet the needs of the patient. More effort to understand and support these valuable workers is needed, to ensure the future availability of this much sought after modality.

I scan in pain daily. I fight every day for my coworkers and staff to have regulated numbers, often falling on deaf ears.

I totally feel that most places are all about the money and how many exams are performed in a shift rather than the safety of the sonographers getting beat down and worn out from the stress and physical demands of this job!!! There needs to be a limit to how many exams can be performed in a day safely!
