Tourism Queensland is seeking applicants for an island caretaker position on Hamilton Island. Valerie Trask is the ultimate Island Caretaker. Having spent the past several years as an environmental publicist and social marketing professional, she is equipped with the skills and experience to generate media appeal, write engaging and professional press materials (including a travel blog), and capture the experience of the islands of the Great Barrier Reef. Valerie has traveled to destinations in Africa, Asia, Europe, South America, and North America and is exceptionally skilled at seeking adventure and collecting travel stories by scuba diving, paragliding, chartering airplanes, sailing, snorkeling, backpacking, biking, swimming, and running. That said, Valerie also understands the importance of balance between sheer relaxation and adventure travel. She also finds great pleasure in delicious local cuisine, afternoons at the spa, a hammock and a book on the beach and sharing stories with fellow travelers and local people. Send Val to the island!
