The British Justice System is way too soft and needs to be reviewed. People who commit violent crimes should be locked up in prison for a very very very long time so that the public is safe. People who commit murder should be killed by the state as it is only fair like this. An eye for an eye.

I belive that this country is far too soft on serious crime, at the very least a life sentence should mean life without the possibility of release however, i do belive the worst cases child killers, police killers, etc should pay the ultimate price with their life. And as far as terrorists are concerned it should be a manditory death sentence if convicted.

I would like to sign the petition as I believe that the death penalty is the correct punishment for the most serious offences. I have wavered about this in the past, but was persuaded by my last girlfriend 's argument that 'people have free will and they chose to take someone elses life, so they must pay the price'. I have also been impressed by the views put forward on this site. Todays' technology will mean that there will not be the same sorts of errors and mistaks mad in the past i.e. hanging the wrong person.
I also would like to extent the number of offences that a person could be executed for and these would include rape (female and male) and the sexual abuse of minors as well as drug offences. I want this punishment to ensure that people in this country can live in the commuity and walk the streets safely. However, I am reassured that many younger people to whom I speak are greatly in favour of capital punishment and want it reintroduced as soon as possible. With the UK leaving the EU, we will have control over our own laws and so it can be brought back. We as supporters can initiate this by discussing the advantages of capital punishment with other people whom we may meet, but obviously not doing it in a way that may antagonise them. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to express my views.

An eye for an eye. You kill you be killed. Pedophiles that ruin a childs future. I cant imagine the horror and pain people feel when these things occur. Why should these people get looked after in a room. Meals cooked for them, no bills to pay. Sit on there ass for ever being looked after. Tv in the rooms. Pool tables and a gym to go to. Not have to work at all. Make money from it. Its disgraceful. Prison is paid for via the tax payer. The victims. Bring back the death penalty. You live by the sword you die by the sword.

Why should death sentence back? The 3 top reasons I have heard most often are the following.
1. The "EVIL people" should get the death punishment cause they did EVIL things however we are not any better as we would be getting the law to stoop to their levels and kill them. yes, they did EVIL things but we should be the bigger person about and bring justice not revenge.
2.It would cost less. It truly wouldn't in fact it would take more money out of our tax money as we would not just need to spend the money on keeping jails up for minor crimes but we would also need it to keep the tools like electric chairs and gas chambers from messing up and executioner to do the killing (oh the executioner would have to retire from the job after the execution of the first kill as to not be seen as a mass murder themselves)
3.Prison is a luxury. Prison is only the luxury place of free food and place in the short term, as you can't pay your bills within the prison walls most likely once you leave jail you would be homeless as you haven't paid you house bills for over 3 years, you have been fired cause of the bad thing you have done and you have 0 to none chance to get a new job cause of the bad thing you have done.

I think it would free space and money to crack down on other laws that are being broken that get brushed aside because police are too busy ie domestic abuse, child abuse etc

Overcrowding prisons and those who commit murder and rape, shouldn't get the lap of luxury with tv/work/cigerttes - if you commit a crime like that, you give up your freedom, and therefore should not have the use on luxury items / if you take a life, your should be taken - there will be less crime

Discipline and respect for authority flows down from having this deterrent and punishment. Is it just a coincidence that the youth of today are so delinquent compared with pre-abolishment. We have the most fair and envied law system in the world with trial by jury guided by judges as to the law. Lets use it. This Law would be there for the most awful cases where there can be no doubt to the guilt of the murderer, Rapists or terrorist for example the Lee Rigby killer, Fred West or Peter Tobin.

We have jails filled beyond capacity, we are one of very few countries with entire police force armed , we have no law allowing us to apply deadly force - we know how that scenario ends , and no capital punishment? We are a Mecca for every rapist ( seriously a "register" ?) & those who view violence as second nature which can lead to murder if that wasn't initial intent - we want to feel Justice , real justice , the old argument of getting it wrong doesn't apply anymore because of DNA & CCTV & prison doesn't do anything to these animals - stop making US live in fear , misery & amongst them ! We have had enough
