These restrictions are unnecessary and need to be lifted!

Why is it acceptable for nail polish to be packed in your personal luggage when flying on an aircraft in and out of the UK, yet not acceptable to pack safely in the cargo hold of an aircraft? We would like the review to look into alternatives of carriage/ packaging/ issuing of licenses for e.g. a shared group license for UK independent nail polish makers to ship according to acceptable packing/ unit limit? We understand the unacceptable risks around dangerous goods and potentially explosive items AND unacceptable risks to aircraft staff and the general public however we feel nail polish has been unfairly deemed as a dangerous good, especially if shipped in small quantities, packaged correctly and held in cargo holds correctly. To conclude we would like a review to take place as soon as possible to allow independent brands and nail polish enthusiasts to ship nail polish safely outside of the UK. Please please reconsider and look over our valid points, we hope you can understand there are definitely (at least) compromises to be reached instead of just NO!! Thank you for your time

I've never heard of nail polish being unsafe. It's the simply things in life that us ladies wish for.

There are so many polishes I'd love but can't get hold of! Would love to see this happen!

I totally agree with living in Spain and wanting to support small business indie brands it’s hard as they can’t ship to me or the postage is crazy expensive

It would be amazing for UK bands to be able to open up to new international customers. If these products are not an issue for shipping between other countries around the world, why are they an issue in the UK. A review of the process and how the safety standards apply to these cosmetics would be appreciated.

Absolutely makes no sense that we were able to ship nail polish internationally previously and now one can not. This step backward should never have happened.

I am signing this petition to help get nail polish bottles ship from different countries to my location in the UK. I hope the law changes and we can get some gorgeous nail polishes. Nail polish isn’t dangerous!

Many good reasons to support this petition. It seems unreasonable with the conditions as they are, & businesses in UK ought to be supported in their efforts. I really hope these regs/guidelines are amended.

Thank you for your consideration to allow us to enjoy sending polish to other nail art and polish lovers. It's with an intent to create and is not a harmful activity or substance.

While I can appreciate prioritizing safety, I don’t understand why reasonable precautions cannot be taken to mitigate safety concerns.

A constant bane to have to deal with!

As a retired fire marshal from the US whose specialty was the use, storage and handling of hazardous materials, I was in the fire service for over 31 years and a fire marshal for 20 of those years. I can certainly understand and appreciate concern with fire loading and propagation in aviation. However, if polishes are clearly marked, quantities limited and properly handled the risk is no higher than allowing alcohol-based personal care products, such as hairspray (which is under pressure and has a lower flash point), to be carried on commercial air carriers without regard to cumulative quantities amongst the passengers. There is risk with everything we do. It is crucial that we not overreact and ban something due to an isolated incident. The key is to assess risk and potential issues, then develop policy, education and emergency plans to minimize those risks. Nothing can be without any risk at all. Incidents can happen even when the aircraft is on the tarmac. Thank you for your consideration and opportunity to comment.

I am so glad you are doing this I'm like everyone else I live in Ky. And you can't get the polish for one of two things I'm across seas so they won't ship it all together or they want to charge to much for shipping!! The hit the bottle stamping polish I could get it for 5$ a bottle if they shipped to the U.S. and if you buy it here you will pay 7 to 9 dollars a bottle !! I signed and I hope it goes through!!!
