Safety and freedom from harm are human rights especially on public University campuses. The fact that students are getting choked and physically assaulted on campus through people paid by tax payer dollars is a human rights violation, a crime, and gross negligence in using public funds. Any university that allows this type of activity should be legally prosecuted. Students are the future of the country and our economic safeguards. The way public universities are treating students in this country makes it seems as if they have no desire to ensure a psychologically healthy, committed and educated populus is available to run the country. We are creating and perpetuating systems of violence regularly and ensuring the people who are supposed to be our safeguards are not trustworthy of the institutions that they come from. This is not what people struggled for and this is not what a new democracy needs. It's actually counter to what a new democracy needs and sews an environment that is disruptive and destructive, not developmental and democratic.
