I am thankful for all the support that support Professor Kalu and Dr. Shirzadegan have given us at UCR. They understand our needs and listen to our struggles as no one else has done it before at UCR. Therefore, I demand that the University administration retain them, with all the support that international scholars need and deserve.

Prof. Kelechi Kalu has always been a strong supporter of my research at UCR. He even took time out of his summer to visit our field site and spent time with us!

As an international student who have had interactions with international offices in two other schools in the US, I should say that international students at UCR will suffer deeply if they loose the support of Dr. Shirzadegan and his team. Their dedication and exceptional service should be appreciated. International office is a home for us, please support our family!

Dr. Magid is an integral part of the international student community at UCR. We need to let the university administration know we; the international students at UCR, stand in solidarity for him to continue as director of ISSO.

Dr. Majid Shirzadegan, the UCR director of International Students & Scholars Office (ISSO), has outstanding knowledge and experience regarding International students’ and scholars’ affairs and has always demonstrated respectful and professional support for international students & scholars. I witnessed an excellent progress in UCR ISSO under Dr. Shirzadegan’s directorship since his arrival at UCR as the director of ISSO in 2017, including an increased promptness and accuracy in addressing international students’ concerns and strengthening openness and welcoming culture of ISS office. This progress has continued and enhanced during the past couple of years and was also strongly supported by Dr. Kalu, the UCR Vice Provost of International Affairs. Dr. Shirzadegan’s dedication to support international students and scholars is exemplary. In addition to addressing international students’ and scholars’ concerns, he takes initiative to go beyond those concerns in order to help international students and scholars to achieve their goals and succeed. Considering the remarkable progress that the UCR International Students and Scholars Office has made under administration of Dr. Kalu and Dr. Shirzadegan, I highly support their incumbency.
