UCL Staff Industrial Action - Student Petition
Dear Professor Jennifer Hudson,
As a student body, we would like to support the staff of the Political Science Department as they participate in industrial action from 25 November - 4 December 2019.
We would also like to voice our discontent as we will be losing valuable lectures and seminars that we have already paid for and that we feel are essential to our education. We request financial compensation for the hours we have lost from our programmes.
We would also like to acknowledge the precedent set by the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA) which has successfully pressured universities into compensation for lost hours due to industrial action in the past. We will take our concerns to them if we cannot find a remedy through the university in which we have placed our trust for our time, education and finances.
We firmly stand behind our staff members as they enter industrial action, and as the board has not agreed to the union’s demands we, as a student body, demand compensation for the hours lost from our course of study. Please consider our petition.
Sincerely,
Students of the Political Science Department
