We the citizens and Native American decendants of Kokomo,Indiana demand any and all action by the Urban Enterprise Association to relocate the monument of Chief Kokomo and the grave stones of the Union solders be stopped immediatly and that Gov. Mitch Daniels designate the Kokomo Pioneer Cemetary on South Purdum St an Historical Landmark to be preserved exactly how and where it is.
The Urban Enterprise Association wants to relocate the Monument of Chief Kokomo and the grave stones of deceased Union solders to the courthouse lawn as part of a beautification effort even though the Historical Society has already said this would not be a good move.
Not only does this cemetary hold these, but the graves of Miami indians as well.
This would be yet another injustice forced upon the Native Americans and our heritage and must be stopped!
Keep history where it belongs. Those graves aren't for moving around whenever someone wants to clear some space. Leave the site alone.

TOTAL DISRESPECT. You dont just move graves for a beautification project. These people deserve to rest in the place they were laid to rest. Put a stop to this now.
