After almost a decade of working as the sole custodian for the UCB Training Center, Rosa was let go on Monday, July 30th of 2018, was told that her last day will be Friday, August 3rd of 2018, and that she will be replaced by Pinnacle, a cleaning company. Rosa is a working single mother, and for 9 years, she worked cleaning the Training Center facilities, by herself, 7 days a week, all year around. Recently, she asked for a non-paid 2 week vacation, and she was told that she would have to provide a reliable sub. Rosa agreed to provide a reliable sub, as she always has, when its been necessary. But apparently, the school's decision to lay her off coincided with her request. The unfortunate news came as a shock to Rosa, and the community at large, and although she is being paid for the full month of August, her and her son deserve much better, after working for the theatre for almost a decade.

We need to help Rosa get her job back, guarantee her position won't be jeopardized if she needs to take sick or vacation days, or offer her a severance proper to the amount of years she worked for the company.

Please, support our petition we only have 48hrs to help Rosa.

UPDATE: I was able to talk to Alex Sidtis, and we are currently in negotiations. I hope we can come to an agreement that works for both parties. The company does seem to be going through some restructuring, specifically with their vendors/ independent contractors, in hopes that they can have a more efficient budget.

UPDATE: Rosa was able to meet up with Nancy, Mary Ann, and a translator they provided, on Monday, August 6th, 2018. Per Rosa's request, I was supposed to be her translator via a video call, but instead of granting Rosa's wish, she was rushed into a room where there was no phone signal, and they proceeded to have the meeting. Rosa listened to the two options UCB management presented her, and she is currently evaluating them. She will give them an answer on or before Friday.

UPDATE: Rosa did not agree to any of the two options that UCB offered her, as she felt they were not convenient for her and her family. She has now moved on to asking them for a fair severance. We are still waiting for their answer... Thank you for your support!
