Currently, on the Uber and Lyft platforms drivers are forced to accept passenger stops that have no limits on time and pay far below even minimum wage. Passengers have the ability to add stops while en route, and most will respect the drivers time and keep it quick. But all too often drivers are taken advantage of by passengers who are unaware of the inconvenience and low pay or do not care. These kinds of stops can sometimes exceed 15 or even 20 mins when the driver could otherwise be making better money.

We the undersigned drivers would like to see Uber/Lyft make it mandatory that stops be entered into the rider app. We want to see a 3 minute limit on free stops, and after that three minute limit we should be paid a fair rate of $0.50/minute ($30/hr).

We believe this is more than fair for all parties involved; driver, rider and online service.
