It is a shame the govt is calling this service illegal. I use uber usually for the purpose of taking my pet around town or to the vet. With the normal taxi service, pets are not allowed.now compare this service in hong kong. Pets are allowed in taxis with a surcharge of 5 hkd extra.
I had an incident last year in june where i had to take my dog to the clinic in an emergency and no option but to take it by taxi. Half way the cab driver refused and said no pets in macau taxi's. But since it was an emergency where my dog was falling ill, i had no option but to hail a taxi. The driver argued with me until i called 999 for assistance and stopped a traffic police on the way. The traffic police also agreed with the taxi driver and said pets are not allowed in macau taxis. I wanted to take a picture of the female driver's license as i have a right to drop down information of the taxi on display but she snatched my phone away. I was helpless to the point where i couldnt fight for my phone because i had my sick dog on my lap.
When 2 other police officer arrived, they listened to both our statements and when i explained the officer about the emergency situation, he saw my dog and understood the emergency and asked the female driver to delete the pictures she took of me and my dog and to return my phone. The officer asked me if i want to complain, i must go to the DSAT for that.
So here is my question to all the locals out there.
The police will fine an uber that is willing to help a local get around the city. But will do nothing about local taxi drivers!?
Why is it that pets are allowed in taxi's in hong kong and not in macau!? What is the reason pets are not allowed in macau taxi!? After all mainland chinese can pay a large sum of money to get to the border gate illegally and taxi's make extra bucks at sauna parlors!? Why isnt the police outside there!? Instead wasting time to nab something good!!
Now its is far impossible that the DSAT doesnt know about taxi surch

Living in a city where there is traffic jam everywhere, where there has been no improvement on the public transportation system over the years, and where taxis are no more convenient for bustling urban life, how could it be possible for us citizens to say goodbye to Uber?????? No way!

We need this service! Even in most country and regions are legal, let's stop the corrupted taxis and learn to accept other companies to provide this kind of service

Corrupt taxi driver are unwilling to drive us if the route is too short, and will charge without the taxi meter reading. We opt for taxis to avoid the heat and convenience, but they will kick us out once we mention the destination.
