The university has agreed to hold the ceremony. I am completely drained after months of pushing for this but I am relieved that our graduates will finally get to walk across that stage.

Final supporters
With the official cancellation of the spring graduation ceremony, the harsh reality is that it Is an essential casualty of a greater issue we are all facing. After posting on the Parents of 2020 Facebook Page about this, This seems to be an easier way to get this list to the Presidents office with your permission to show parental support for a later date, regardless of whether it would be possible for them to join the August/Summer graduation, or December/Winter graduation)
If possible, would you and your children attend and participate in a complete Class of 2020 Graduation Ceremony in Tuscaloosa (regardless of it being in August or December as circumstances would allow) that would allow the Spring class the opportunity to have their moment of walking across the stage and getting their well-earned diploma
This would provide the students the experience they earned, the parents the experience of watching the ceremony and ‘being there’, provide a much-needed boost to the local economy, and a wonderful sense of future celebrations that we all could use and look forward to. It would also provide a tremendous amount of goodwill to the young men and women as they become alumni and earn enough money to donate to the University in the future.
Please sign this document so I can forward it to the Presidents office so he and his team see that this is NOT a Petition of protest, but rather a petition/listing of people who support this idea that will provide a great deal of benefits for so many parties.

Thank you for considering this important request. Other universities are going the option for students to participate in a later graduation rate. This was also done at the University of Alabama after the tornado. Please, please, please give our students this option. '
my mom got sick during my daughters high school graduation and I missed her walking across the stage. I was hoping this was my chance to see her do this - please consider have graduation at a later date
All the kids have earned this honor . This means so much to me as my daughter lost her father and grandmother while attending school which was very difficult for her to push on. BUT SHE DID!! She needed an extra semester to do so but did it and I am in awe of her and her hard work and dedication.
Please allow our kids to walk..anytime this summer or when deemed safe ..they need to be able to say farewell to their beloved university! It will also bring a much needed economic boom to the small businesses in Tuscaloosa !
Please please give our kids who have looked forward to their graduation for 4 years. They so deserve closure and celebration. Please pick a date and let’s celebrate. We will come 3,000 miles to celebrate the love our kid has had with friends at Bama! It’s an injustice not to
We absolutely support a formal graduation ceremony at a later date. The students have all worked very hard and deserve the public recognition.
I do feel like U/A will do all it can possibly do to make this happen.

Please please please don’t combine this special event with any other class scheduled graduation. There is enormous competition for hotel rooms even with the normal class size. Keeping this to the Spring 2020 graduation group will allow at least the possibility of affordable hotel rooms. Thanks!
