U voted but still get a fine

Done and recieved a fine.

I posted my vote on the Friday. Somehow still managed to get a $78 fine.

I voted along with three other family members in my household and we all received a fine. That's over $300, just imagine how much money will be made out this. How was the council election finalised when over 50% of residents voted were not received.

My son and I never received any ballot in mail didn't even know anything until we received fines funny how they can get the fine in the mail

I dud not recieve a first letter asking to vote.. i hace changed nane in last 2 years not sure if that had anything to do with it.. I then got a letter asking why.. i unexplained.. they said not good enough

We moved from Knox to Yarra Ranges. We did the change of address correctly. We received the forms for Yarra Ranges and nothing for Knox as expected. We voted for Yarra Ranges on the day we received the forms which was well before the closing day. We both received notices asking why we didn't vote in Knox. We both responded that we had moved to Yarra Ranges and had voted there. My explanation was accepted as I have not received a fine. My wife's identical explanation was rejected and she was fined. It is worth noting that neither of us have been fined for not voting in Yarra Ranges because we did and they clearly have out votes. My wife is being fined for failing to vote twice, an act that if she complied, she would be breaking the law.

My wife Hannah & I both voted with plenty of time to send slips back in, we both received letters stating we hadn't voted and to explain why or pay the fine. We informed the council that we had indeed voted and sent off the return slip and we both received $78.00 fines when we did everything correct from the start!

Mailed in the postal vote and have been fined for nor providing an acceptable reason for not voting.

Voted and so did my husband and both of us were fined here's the kicker I had a broken ankle at the time so had a friend walk with me to put the votes in the post! I have a witness that I postal voted!

Voted sent them off in the mail and still got fined? Answered the please explain letter and still fined!! What about our votes

I have sent a stat Dec to the council it's ridiculous Poor family's that are struggling and receiving these fines

It's bull we do the right thing and get fined clearly just revenue raising

Not happy at all Yarra Ranges you are outdated and need to step up your recent plan of voting did not work and you have upset a lot of people more meetings required and more loudly stated when and where they are to take place no one has anything to say thats decent about Yarra Ranges council

Mailed my vote and received a fine.
