As students of the Physical Therapy program at The University of Toronto, we acknowledge that a thorough knowledge of human musculoskeletal anatomy is an integral component of informed, experienced and clinically reasonable Physical Therapists.
We, the undersigned, acknowledge that the anatomy dissection lab is slated for removal and petition that:
- Anatomy Dissection and related lecture material contributes to, and provides the fundamental basis of a knowledgeable practicing Physiotherapist: it must remain in the program.
- Decisions of this magnitude, present and future, must be first consulted with students as these decisions most drastically affect them. This ensures an environment of transparency and collaboration is upheld, allowing for better relationships between leadership, faculty and students.
