I was falsely arrested for having cannabis in my possession.I could not afford a attorney, and public defender was assigned to me.I stated my case to my public defender. I was informed by her that it would be in my best interest not to take a small case to court because the court could decide to give me jail time if found guilty.I stated to her i am not guilty and want no conviction in my background. Public defender stated to me that it is unlikely to win a case against police department,a plea of guilty to supervision would not be an conviction on my record.I later found out that i have a conviction to time served for cannabis in my background.which is not what i was told.If my public defender had fully infromed me of the consequences of my plea i would not have taken her advise to make a plea of guilty.
