Dear founders of twitter, ( Evan Williams, Noah Glass Jack Dorsey and Biz Stone)

We Nigerians wish to first thank you all for such an awesome tool you created and popularized. Its has served as an immense medium for change all over the world and especially in Nigeria. No longer can the awesome deeds of a few and the horrible deeds of others, pass like a ship in the night.

The social consciousness of Nigerians and their rightful demand for good governance practically hinges on the Twitter movement.

In all its Good, we have discovered a flaw in the fabric of this great social tool as far as the intrinsic development of this country is concerned.

The verification process for twitter has been uber-flawed and tends to send the wrong message to the teeming population of Nigeria. While we appreciate the hardwork and tenacity of our breakthrough stars who went from grass to grace and the "Verified" badge twitter has accorded them, we are however concerned that the real giants of our society, who worked long hours and built up great industries are being sidelined in the verification process, and i may as well add, the industries they built too.

It may surprise you all to realize that none of the leading commercial banks, investment banks, technology titans, manufacturing companies in Nigeria are verified. Save for a few political leaders of thought who are avid users of the service, the rest are unverified.

To this length, we write this petition for a review of the verification system and (if possible) the immediate verification of the following handles.

@Gidi_Traffic: The leading traffic advisory service in Nigeria
@Trafficbutter: Another traffic Advisory service
@UBAGroup: Africa's leading financial services institution
@DiamondbankNG: Another Leading financial Institution
@GTbank: An exceptional financial services institution in Africa
@Fidelitybankplc: A SME focused Nigerian Bank
@transcorpPlc: Nigeria's emerging industrial titan
@PastorEAAdeboye
@firstbankngr

We appreciate the depth of research that goes into the verification process, but we also posit with total conviction that if all the music and movie artistes that have been verified in Nigeria passed muster, these handles have impacted for more lives than the artistes.

Kindly review and accede to this our request.
