We, the undersigned, urge the Hampden Community Council and the Baltimore City Zoning Board to support Stacey Gear and her efforts to establish Tux's Gallery at 3853 Falls Road, Baltimore City, MD 21211. BUSINESS PLAN: The storefront would house a 300+ square foot fine art gallery. Stacey is seeking a zoning variance to use 198 square feet in the back of the space as a tattoo studio. See the plans at http://www.tuxstattoo.com/Hampden.html BUSINESS EXPERIENCE AND HISTORY: Stacey is currently the owner of MDs second licensed tattoo studio, BFA Tuxs Tattoo Studio. The studio was founded on Howard Street in 1977, and is currently located in Glen Burnie, MD. Stacey has been tattooing since 1991. ART EXPERIENCE: Stacey is an accomplished artist in many mediums, including painting, cloth and silk painting and jewelry making. She has studied art at Towson, MICA and AACC, and looks forward to displaying her work within walking distance of her home. NEIGHBORHOOD BENEFITS: - As a neighborhood resident, she is committed to making aesthetic and security upgrades to the property that will benefit the entire community, including security cameras, improved lighting and an intercom/buzzer entry system. - She will bring her established clientele who will spend money while in Hampden. - This female owned business would add to diversity in the community. - The studio will host openings, participate in First Fridays and feature the works of local artists who will further benefit from the gallery low-commission rates. PLEASE ADD YOUR NAME IN SUPPORT OF TUXS STUDIO. THANK YOU!

The zoning board has remained quiet despite the clear benefits this project brings to our neighborhood. I have been spending my nights drafting formal responses to their skepticism and I am not walking away from this fight.
