Results is what should shoudl count. Give them a chance to start the work and re evaluate then as its nto fair for a football success to be overturn by your adherence to rules that break the spirit of competition and success counting.......and you wonder why grass roots football struggles.

I know the guys who have worked hard to get Turton FC to where it is today, this must feel like a huge kick in the bollocks, when all you ask is for support from the league you’re playing in and Turton FC will do the rest. #CommonSenseneeded

Don't punish the players for an administrative failing. Let them go up with the understanding that the required improvements will be done in time for the new season.
