On average, I send Tumblr an e-mail twice a week to take a repost of one of my gifs down.
Sure, they take it down. And it ends there: reblogs are still up so the post continues to get notes, and the reposter doesn't get any consequences other than one of their posts being deleted.
Frankly, I am sick of it. There need to be stricter consequences for reposting. Blogs should be suspended for a few days for it, and reblogs should be taken down.
Please sign this petition so we can show the Tumblr staff that reposting is not a joke and that their current way of handling it is not sufficient.

I have been reading through the messages you all are sending about your own experiences with stolen work and it is honestly heartbreaking to see how common this has become. Your willingness to speak up about these frustrations is the only reason anyone is paying attention to this problem right now. I am working on organizing these stories into a formal request for the team at Tumblr to review.

I truly never imagined that so many people felt this same frustration with the way reposting is handled. Seeing this kind of momentum is entirely due to all of you feeling the same way I do. I am just a person who wanted to see a change and I am honestly overwhelmed by how much you have all pushed this forward.

An edit of my ended up on weheartit and was reblogged on Tumblr. I asked Tumblr staff to remove it, and they said they were 'unable to'. Jfc
I totally agree, It's not fair, It'd be different it was a song from an artist wouldn't it? So have a double standard for Gif makers?
it makes me so mad when people get thousands of notes off stuff they just stole. zero effort, all the credit.
literally just had someone block me after i told them to credit my art, tumblr really needs to grow a backbone and do something
