I am a legally blind 17 year public safety dispatcher. I stand with blind people who want to work and not satisfied with a government hand out. Employment is freedom. Don't take this man's freedom away.

ALL people should be given the opportunity to work. My grandson is planning to work for a living instead of a handout after high school graduation next couple years.

I think that's horrible. I'm a working blind individual myself. In my life I've experienced so much job discrimination. I have two college degrees and served in the United States Peace Corps for two and 1/2 years and I still experience job discrimination. I get the job interviews but don't get the job offers. I makes me so angry when I hear that 83% of qualified blind and visually impaired are unemployed. We also experience extreme poverty and housing discrimination due to being unemployed and having no money.

At a time when jobs for blind people are scarce as hen's teeth, this is hardly the thing to do!! Withdraw this bill!! I vigorously oppose these bills.

Municipal agencies won't pay their bills, so they want us to kick out a successful blind entrepreneur. Nope, not today, sir.
Blind people have a right to work and earn their way just just like our sided peers and to live the lives we want doing the jobs we watch.

HB 2230 is the wrong way to finance the Tulsa county jail. If the sheriff can't improve his efficiency and manage his budget any better, he ought to get rid of some prisoners instead of a working blind guy. This is an unfair and unjust cheap shot. The sheriff should be ashamed.
