This movement is speaking to the Governing Board of Tempe Union High School District, Staff, Parents & Students:

The recent tragedy at Corona del Sol calls for the need of mental health awareness in our schools. Marcus Wheeler, a young boy with a promising future, took his life only a few days away from graduating high school. This movement is to be taken with utmost urgency, as suicide is the #3 cause of death for adolescents in the US.

We ask the Tempe Union High School District (TUHSD) to sponsor a Mental Health Awareness week in all TUHSD schools. The goal of this movement is:

-Educate students on mental health diseases

-Discuss warning signs of depression and suicide

-Provide students with resources : counseling, support groups, hotlines

The signees listed support our movement and demand the TUHSD to sponsor a Mental Health Awareness week in all of their schools.
