The Director The Shri Ram School. Gurgaon Dear Sir, This is to express our collective concern regarding the increase in fee as mentioned in the fee circular of January , 2009 . This is indeed an unfair burden on the parent community . Please understand that we do not in any way want to deny the teachers their deserved increase as stipulated by the 6th Pay Commission. However, the burden of this hike should be proportionately spread across the various stakeholders of the Shri Ram Community and not just the parents. Perhaps it is in cognizance of the severity of the financial burden on the parents that the Delhi Government has put a cap of Rs.500 as fee hike and Rs.4000 as arrear recovery (Times of India, 29-01-09. p.2). This also puts us in a peculiar situation of a dual fee structure for the Vasant Vihar campus and the two Gurgaon campuses. At a meeting held on 21st Jan, 2009, convened, by yourself, Ms. Manika Sharma, Mr Kartik (SRF Foundation), the school management had assured the parents that parity between the fee structures of the campuses will be maintained. We request the management to call for a general body meeting with the express agenda of discussing the implications and terms of fee hike before the due date of fee payment i.e. 6, Feb, 2009.
