Teachers should be able to make their own choice. If they need to be in class to do something, then that's up to them, but it should not be forced.

Several teachers are parents who have kids that have to lessen remotely. Teachers are already underappreciated and underpaid. Trust them to do their best, safely at home. In comfort with working air conditioning. Let Teachers choose to physically come into the school or not.
It also makes financial sense for the schools. Less teachers in the building means lures electricity and less water usage.
Yes, I think it's a fairly low risk for teachers to teach fin their classroom as long as NO ONE else comes in contact with them... But there seems to be no point to this other than to micromanage teachers. Teachers don't need to be micromanaged. Let them teach and find creative ways to engagetheir kids.

All teachers should be able to SAFELY work from home while teaching!! Why put teachers at risk when they can be doing the SAME THING from home?

I am a single parent and have 3 children at home. Aging from 12, 10, & 3. If we’re not going to expose students to being in classrooms, I feel my children’s health should come first too and not expose them by putting them in daycare. I have a teaching area set up at home and really wish C/A would let teachers have the option to work from home like Flushing and Grand Blanc are doing for their staff if they have small children at home.

No other essential workers are expected to expose themselves to 32 students for 70 minutes 4-5 times a day when social distancing at 6 feet is not possible.

If you can’t trust your teachers YOU are creating a hostile work environment. There is NO reason to require teachers to report in the buildings unless you don’t trust them. Wonder why they have little respect for administration?? Well YOU set the tone

It is such a shame. CA board members think it was apporiate to but teachers and their family in harms way. Michigan has a total of 113k cases with over 6k fatal WITH FLINT HAVING NEARLY 300 ACTIVE CASES. By having the teachers not working remotely. CA board members are risking their teachers and any more health.. JUSTICE FOR TH TEACHERS

It is unfair to put the teachers at risk. If the kids can be trusted to work correctly from home, so can the teachers you pay, who clearly love their job enough to go through with all of this, no matter the apparent difficulty. Let them be home and safe with their own families.

The health and safety of our teachers, students , and staff is our responsibility.
Provide safe and reasonable learning and teaching options for the community and staff. The lives and safety of our educators and students matter within this difficult time.
