Most significantly, the current town manager has pushed from the beginning of his tenure to centralize power in his office -- look at the COA mess, the attempt to appoint the planning board, to short circuit the beach commission and the library trustees, Remember: the power in Truro is supposed to be with the voters. Not with a town manager. Or with would-be autocrats on any board.

I’m unhappy with the direction of town governance. Far reaching policies are getting railroaded through with no regard for those who dissent. I’m tax payer and not a voter: I work in Boston. But most of my life is in Truro. The rapacious approach to revenue harvesting and disregard for people’s attachment to the place they have chosen to live is approaching something Fisk engineer. That’s not a way to deal with residents.

Truro is getting very shabby. Grass along the roads not being mowed. Roads not being sweep and various beach fences are not being maintained. Many town have left. This all starts at the top. It’s time for a change.

We both live year round in North Truro, and we vote here. As a general principle, we dislike insensitive and arrogant bureaucrats.
