We, the undersigned, taxpaying Residents of Fayston, VT, are concerned the True North Wilderness Therapy program proposed in N. Fayston on the 650 Lathrop parcel at the end of Basset Hill Rd is in conflict with the Public Access Easement, our Land Use Regulations and our Town Plan.

We believe in protecting our core deep forest habitat from development and constant human presence.
The large unfragmented block of Core Habitat that extends from Rt 17-Rt 89 is a finite resource that cannot be replaced. The size and scope of the True North Wilderness Programs, LLC, proposal will adversely affect the delicate habitat and pristine forest currently found there.

We believe the public access easement on the parcel must be protected and upheld.
The True North proposal includes over 12 permanent campsites and 40 structures dispersed through the parcel.  The public's ability to access and utilize the parcel for the allowable pedestrian activities, will be severely impacted.

We also agree that the Fayston Town Plan must be adhered to by the Fayston Development Review Board in their consideration of the True North proposal.
The Town Plan has clear data and goals to limit development in wild and delicate areas, to cluster development in appropriate places where possible, and to maintain our large blocks of wild deep forest land.
