As a resident of the Triple Creek community and a golf cart (GC) owner I would like to be able to use my GC to drive around the community for various reasons like: check the mail, pick up trash left by contractors blowing through community, with residents on carts we will by default be patrolling our community, pick my child up from school, trick or treating w your kids, and just cruising to wave at your neighbors. There are countless reasons to own a GC and I would like to have the city ordinance changed in order for us to use our slow moving vehicles without the concern of breaking the law and getting tickets from Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office as we stroll through our community peacefully. If we can get a vote passed by majority then we can get some guidelines put in place that would allow us as law abiding residents to use our GC. Examples of guidelines are: headlights and taillights, slow moving vehicle sign, only allowed on streets w speed limits below 35mph,register/inspect by a HOA or representative, must at least 14 years of age. These are just a few examples the city could place on GC to be legally owned and operated on the streets of Triple Creek. Sun City, The Villages, and Summerfield are also nearby communities who have legalized GC that we could look to for guidance or advice on the matter should we pass the ordinance Change.
