I am a retired Army Chaplain ( COL), In all of my years serving this great nation I never saw this type of behavior tolerated within the ranks of the military when it was brought to commands attention. It works against every principle that should be taught to young minds that are starving for knowledge. It is not even up for discussion of where Professor Williams stands morally or ethically by his own speech. The question is? Where does Trinity College stand on this and all other issues that influence students? Is Trinity not an institution of higher learning? If it is then why should any one want their child attending Trinity if this is what is adhered to and allowed. Freedom of speech is most certainly granted in our society but ALL of us should be responsible in the use of that freedom. Apologies will not do in this case for Mr Williams. He has abused his position of leadership. To plainly say this President Sweeney and Board of Trustees, if you do not dismiss Mr. Williams you are plainly part of the problem.
Your motto is: Pro Ecclesia Et Patria (For the church and country) The church is the bride of Christ. Do you stand for that which is acceptable to the Bride Groom?

As a student Professor Williams constantly brags about being tenure and claims that his power as a teacher is absolute. This level of arrogance is not conducive to a learning environment and only allows a professor to pick and choose which students deserve the correct marks based on personal preference and not the actual work done.

I am ashamed that a man who acts vocally in such a way will be 'welcomed' back on campus this spring. As a senior at Trinity, I am truly disappointed in my school's administrative efforts to manage this situation. I hope to never see Mr. Williams teaching at Trinity again.

These inappropriate and racists comments must not be allowed on campus and Johnny Williams should not step foot back on this campus for if he does it will show that trinity supports his statements and racist mind. He must not come back #DontGiveDonationsTillHesGONE

The "professor's" sick, racist comments go beyond free speech rights. They advocate violence. Any institution that continues to employ him should be ashamed.

This action is overdue and will help Trinity to be a better college moving forward.
